TAKEOFF SAFETY BRIEF
Prior to each takeoff a Takeoff Safety Briefing will be accomplished by the pilot flying.
This briefing should normally be conducted when "Crew Briefing" is called for on the Taxi Checklist.
This briefing must include a discussion of at least
the following items:
• Runway Condition
(Dry, Wet, Anti-Ice)
• Flap setting (7°/15°)
• Takeoff Procedure
(Static, Rolling, Noise Abatement)
• Rejected (Aborted) takeoff criteria
• Emergency profile and altitudes.
(Altitude: Pattern/FAF/MSA or as
briefed;
• Route: Left/Right traffic/Vectors or
as briefed; Approach: ILS/VOR/GPS
NDB or Visual; Landing: Runway or
proceed to Diversionary/Alternate
airport)
• Initial route and altitude (SID/
Obstacle Departure Procedure,
Runway heading)
• Suggested changes or other
considerations

A rejected takeoff should be initiated for any abnormality below 70 knots. Between 70 knots and prior to V1, aborts should be initiated for any FIRE, ENGINE. FAILURE, or LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL, or MASTER WARNING INDICATION.
For problems after V1 the takeoff should be
continued and the situation be addressed in flight.

Crew Briefings
Crewmembers shall comply with the (crew) briefing requirements and procedures outlined in their aircraft’s Standard Operating Procedures on all flights.
