Aircraft Turnover
Crewmembers relinquishing chain of custody of an aircraft to another crew shall ensure general aircraft cleanliness and completeness of service items. If the crew is unable to return the aircraft to this condition, the PIC shall contact the Chief Pilot / ACP on duty to arrange for necessary cleaning, stocking or servicing. Items shall be addressed before turning over include:
• Aircraft cleaning, including carpets, brass, tables, countertops, etc.
• The lavatory will be serviced, cleaned, and stocked
• Stock items will be inventoried and replaced. Use stock from a supply locker if available. If supply locker is not available, then the crew leaving the aircraft will need to order those items missing.
• Jeppesen revisions shall be completed. If they are not completed, they will be placed on the PIC's seat with an explanation as to why they were not completed.
• Closets will be left neat and orderly
• The cockpit will be cleaned and left in a "Ready-to-Fly" condition
• All trash and/or nonstandard stock items in the ice drawers will be removed
The crew shall maintain the aircraft stocked with all standard stock items.
. . . When a crew leaves an aircraft on the road they will leave a pass-down log of the aircraft's stock and general cleanliness to aid the next crew
Soda – i.e. Coke and Pepsi products, have the expiration date on the bottom of the can.
Canada Dry products are bottled / canned at several places. There is a phone number on the can you can call and ask for the expiration date.
Blue Bird Juices have a date stamped on the bottom and this represents the date it was canned. Juices expire two years from the stamped date.
Heineken & Amstel Light have a 4 digit code preceding the manufactures code on the bottom of the cans. An example of this is 8207528A1316. The stamp on the bottom represents the day this product was bottled and the product has a 180 day shelf life after being bottled or born, as some manufactures say.
The first four digits of the example above are 8207. The first digit (8) represents the year. In this case it would be 2008. The next three digits (207) represent the day within that year. In this case it would be July 25th. In essence the product would have been bottled on July 25, 2008 and would expire 180 days after – January 22, 2009.
